Virtual Community Service Project

About the event

The 2021 Coterie of Debutantes are collecting ethnic hair care products for The Rainbow Room as their collective community service project. For safety reasons, this community service project will be virtual and run from July 1- August 1, 2021.

What is the Rainbow Room?

According to their website, The Rainbow Room is a ray of hope for abused and neglected children. It is an on-site, emergency resource room stocked with items to assist Child Protective Services Caseworkers in helping families and children in crisis. Many times children come into CPS care with nothing but what little clothes they have on. Sometimes they are in dirty and torn clothes; sometimes only a diaper. When a child in need comes into the CPS system, the caseworker can access the Rainbow Room for emergency supplies such as food, diapers, baby formula, personal hygiene items and clothes. For more information, visit the Rainbow Room.
